Turbomeca announces four new TurboSupport Centers in its continuing effort to place support resources close to operators on a worldwide basis. Accordingly, the facilities opened this year are in Europe, Asia, South America and North America.
- - Scott, Louisiana, USA. Opening June 30 th, this facility serves the offshore support industry in the Gulf of Mexico as well as other regional helicopter operators. Situated between the towns of Lafayette and Lake Charles in southern Louisiana, this new base is well located to serve the offshore industry. It joins six other geographically dispersed North American TurboSupport Centers to provide localized service and a choice of provider for maintenance and repair services.
- - Sao Paolo, Brazil, one of the world’s busiest areas for civil helicopter traffic, will have a TurboSupport Center that will be fully operational by August 30 th. The facility will support a fleet of nearly 200 Turbomeca engines in service in the Sao Paulo area. The new center will be located in a modern hangar and equipped to service all the various Turbomeca engine models in operation within the region. It will be home to a regional field representative and two rapid response technicians, as well as a commercial agent and sales manager.
- - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This center, opening later this year, will support the Malaysian Army, which has selected the Arrius 2K2 engine for its light utility helicopters. It will also support other Malaysian customers. A Turbomeca field representative will be based there to stay in frequent contact with regional operators.
- - Genève, Swiss. This center carries out the maintenance (levels 1, 2 and 3) for Artouste III, Arrius 2, Arriel 1 and Arriel 2 engines.
TurboSupport Centers provide line and deep maintenance and provide technicians for maintenance in the field. With the addition of these four new facilities, Turbomeca now operates a network of 25 TurboSupport Centers worldwide.
