In March 2004, Boeing selected Messier-Dowty landing gear for its new 787 Dreamliner. Messier-Dowty had already partnered Boeing on other aircraft for a dozen years, but will play an even more important role on this new flagship jetliner, with design and production responsibility for all landing gear. This is a first for Boeing - and Messier-Dowty - since Boeing previously handled all design work in-house. The Messier-Dowty stand at the air show is displaying full-scale models of these landing gear, which will feature several major technical innovations.
