Turbomeca press conference World’s leading helicopter engine manufacturer heading for new heights!

On May 14, a Turbomeca engine powered the first helicopter to touch down on the summit of Mount Everest, a Eurocopter AS350 B3 powered by an Arriel 2B1. Not only did this feat set a new world record, it also symbolizes a company heading for new heights! Turbomeca Chairman and CEO Emeric d'Arcimoles reviewed the company’s performance during a press conference at the Paris Air Show today: “We set new business records in 2004 and so far in 2005, with orders doubled over 2003, production up 40 percent and continued development of our product range to keep pace with growing demand from helicopter manufacturers.” In addition to its commercial success and joint programs in India and China, Turbomeca is also bolstering its customer service, with more field reps, for example, plus more service centers and “power by the hour” support packages. The next Paris Air Show in 2007 will undoubtedly see an even wider choice of turbine engines, featuring ever-greater power output and lower operating costs.
