French aerospace industries association Gifas is organizing its 13th Air & Space Forum this year, a traditional event that brings together aerospace companies, schools and students in the Concorde Hall of the Le Bourget Air & Space Museum.
Human Resources teams from the SAFRAN group will be manning a stand to welcome young visitors (high school and college students, graduates, etc.) who are interested in the many professions offered by the group’s Propulsion, Equipment and Defense Security branches.
3 questions for Stéphane Legrand, deputy director of human resources for SAFRAN, in charge of recruitment and mobility.rois questions à Stéphane Legrand (ci-contre), directeur adjoint des Ressources Humaines du Groupe SAFRAN, chargé du recrutement et de la mobilité nationale et internationale.
- Why is it in SAFRAN’s interest to participate in this forum?
First of all, it’s a great way to publicize the group as a potential employer, by providing information about our companies, businesses and the range of professions. It is also very good timing this year, since we can kill two birds with one stone! By that, I just mean that this year’s air show also marks the debut of the new group SAFRAN.

What would you consider the main advantage of this forum?
It’s organized within the scope of the Paris Air Show, and gives young people a change to really discover the aerospace industry’s products and activities. For us, it provides a wonderful showcase for all of our professions and businesses. Furthermore, the close contact between industry and schools creates links between these young people, a veritable pool of future employees and skills, and their future employers. This is true for all job categories, including line workers, technicians and supervisors, engineers, etc., which means we can recruit a wide variety of candidates.

What were your impressions following the first day of the forum?
The public response was really enthusiastic! In fact, we’ve already received a large number of job applications. Right from the time the doors opened at 9:30 in the morning, our HR teams, with 28 people from 12 group companies (1) were ready to welcome our young visitors.
